Celine Dion Death Rumors Are Really Unsettling For Singer

Celine DionYou may have woke up this morning and seen rampant "news" stories that Celine Dion died in a car crash. According to most of the spam, Dion was driving a friend's car on the highway going 95 mph and lost control. As frightening as the reports are -- the good news is Celine is alive and well. The Celine Dion death hoax has been circulating around Facebook since last week, and the star slammed rumor in an interview with Digital Spy revealing how frustrating all the fuss is:

Sometimes it's freaky because I have to call my family about it. The thing that worries me is my mom. It makes me a little mad -- she's 86 years old.

Well yeah, it's frustrating. Death is frightening enough as it is, nevertheless if your family has to go through the scare MORE than one time. And considering Dion has now "died" twice now in two different hoaxes (years ago it was rumored she killed herself in her garage) people really need to cut it out.

Other celebs who have been victim to these ridiculous death hoaxes? Eddie Murphy, Britney Spears, Kanye West, Justin Bieber, and Morgan Freeman -- for starters.

I just can't help but wonder -- why do people go out of their way to start these horrible rumors? Criticisms on music or personal decisions, well, those are one thing. Celebrities open themselves up to those sort of judgments with the fame. But lying about someone's death? It's just not cool, guys. Sure, these death "stunts" are just ploys for clicks -- but no one's thinking about how horribly it affects the celebrity's family, friends, and of course fans.

Dion has recently been doing the media circuit performing her new single "Loved Me Back to Life." A little ironic? Well, I guess you could say that.

Do you find yourself falling for celebrity death rumors when they pop up? Do they make you frustrated?
