Jon Gosselin Insults His Own Kids on 'Oprah'

jon gosselinJon Gosselin is running his trap again, and as usual, not much good is coming from it. After his recent firing-a-warning-shot-at-a-paparazzo incident, Jon sat down with Oprah for her OWN show, Where Are They Now? to discuss, well, where he is now. The conversation, naturally, turned to his children, and if you thought dating Hailey Glassman was one of his dumber moves, wait until you hear what Gosselin had to say about his own kids.

In regards to the effects Jon and Kate Plus 8 had on his children, Jon said: "Yes, they got to travel the world, and yes, they got these fabulous things, and yes, they have trust funds, and they're taken care of educationally. Great. But developmentally, they have problems with their peers, and they have problems with talking to other people, and they have problems with wants and needs and manners and morals and what's right and what's wrong. I think more so than someone who grows up off TV."

I mean, was this really necessary? After witnessing the media circus that followed Jon and Kate, it doesn't exactly take a rocket scientist to ascertain that their children will probably have issues. But, as a parent who realizes that being in the public eye so much had ill effects on his kids, shouldn't Jon stop the madness? Or at least try? Going on public television and telling one of the most powerful women in the world that his kids have bad manners, poor morals, and problems with their peers isn't going to help things. He should be dealing with these things while the cameras aren't rolling. Did he not learn anything from Jon and Kate Plus 8?

And while we're at it, let's be honest here. Is it really the show, and only the show, that created these problems with the Gosselin kids? Because I personally think that if both Jon and Kate handled some things differently -- like, say, their divorce and their media exposure -- things might have turned out in a different way. Jon tried to write a tell-all about his ex, for god's sake! Look at who their parents are!

I feel bad for the children that their father went on TV and talked badly about them. What child wouldn't be saddened to learn that? They're not bad kids, they just have parents with really poor judgment. Maybe Jon should have talked about that with Oprah? That, after all, seems more beneficial to the kids than what he said.

Do you think Jon was wrong to say this about his children?
