Kristen Stewart Can't Blame Her Weight Gain on Robert Pattinson

Kristen StewartSo Kristen Stewart is apparently all sorts of torn up that Robert Pattinson has the audacity to be dating her friend, Dylan Penn. Hey girl, I get it -- it's not exactly easy when your friend starts gettin' it on with your former boyfriend of what feels like forever. I feel bad for the girl because of both this Dylan situation and because of her latest movie role in Sils Maria. Apparently the film's director, Olivier Assayas, wants Kristen to gain weight and look "dowdy and puffy" in the film. So what's KStew do? Well, she picks up some chocolate.

Yup, rumor has it Kristen's been munching on chocolate squares throughout her days on set to gain a few pounds. The dark stuff, eh? Well ... last time I checked, chocolate is a pretty standard "eat as much as possible because you're miserable" breakup food.

The good news: It could be worse. I mean, hey, I've heard of my fair share of unhealthy post-breakup activities.

As a woman in my mid-20s, I've seen some ridiculous female antics post-romantic meltdown. I've seen friends skip over the standard down an entire pint of Ben & Jerry's and go straight for a whole ice cream cake (chocolate crunchies included). I've been the woman who completely invests her frustrations into working out, spending hours running, then taking a yoga class, then running some more. And heck, it pains me to tell you about the friend I had who channelled her breakup misery into redecorating her space to forget him and then found herself $1,000 in the hole.

As hard as it is to deal with a failed relationship, it's important to keep things in perspective. Taking things to extremes, whether it be with working out or intense eating, is NOT the answer. Realize that life goes on without that person, which may not exactly be easy, but what's most critical is that you don't bottle up your emotions inside. Talk to someone, whether it be a friend, colleague, or therapist, about what's going on up there in that mind of yours.

But hey, in the meantime, I guess you could just snack on a few chocolate squares a la Kristen Stewart.

How have you dealt with bad breakups in the past?
