Katherine Heigl's 'Grey's Anatomy' Costar Makes Her Sound Even Worse Than We Thought She Was

You know when you leave your job and someone asks about someone you used to work with and you're all, "Oh, she was intense ... you know ... but uhhhhhh ... she was ... so what are you ordering?" Yeah, right. You learn pretty early that if you don't want it coming back to haunt you (and it always does), you just keep your mouth shut about your former (or current) coworkers. So this very frank interview that Grey's Anatomy star Ellen Pompeo gave about former co-star Katherine Heigl is ... so what are you ordering? Yeah, it's that bad. Ellen criticizes Katherine for all that tumult that went on during the last season that Katherine was on the show.

Pompeo told the New York Post:

Hurt feelings, combined with instant success and huge paychecks, started things spinning out of control ... You could understand why she wanted to go -- when you're offered $12 million a movie and you're only 26. But Katie's problem is that she should not have renewed her contract. She re-upped, took a big raise and then tried to get off the show. And then her movie career did not take off.

Ouch! Movie career did not take off? Last I checked (which was literally two seconds ago), Knocked Up made over $200 million at the box office. How much did your movie make, Ellen? Did you have a movie?

Okay, so there were lots of duds after that. I actually had to look those up too, because who has ever heard of Life As We Know It? Or Killers?

But that wasn't the only slam Katherine got. A "source" (who is probably maybe definitely not Ellen) also told Hollywood Reporter about Katherine:

She can cost you time every day of shooting. Wardrobe issues, not getting out of the trailer, questioning the script every single day.

Ohhh, yiiiiiikes. It took me awhile to learn not to talk about people I've worked with -- inevitably I'd be standing there blabbing, "Oh, she/he is such a pain in the ass ... " and turn to see she/he standing there staring at me.

What's bizarre is that Ellen didn't even gossip in a hallway -- she said all of this to a national newspaper. I hope Katherine doesn't end up running a big studio someday or Ellen will have a hard time getting work. And stranger things have happened in Hollyweird.

Do you gossip about your coworkers?
