'Dancing With the Stars' Season 17 Cast May Be the Most Emotional & Controversial Yet

DWTSSeason 17 of Dancing With the Stars is coming very soon, and next Tuesday, September 4 on Good Morning America, the cast will be officially announced. But leaks and rumors are running hot and if any of them are true, it really does sound like season 17 is going to be one of the more interesting seasons to date.

So far it sounds like there might be some seriously moving moments thanks to 74-year-old Valerie Harper, who played Rhoda on The Mary Tyler Moore Show and her own spin-off. Supposedly in March she was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer and was only given three months to live. If Harper is dancing, there won't be a dry eye in the house. Wow. I will be watching.

She may be the big news, but there are other pretty big names, too. See below:

1.) Leah Remini: Recently ousted Scientology member Remini would bring a little drama to the dance floor. I would imagine ABC won't let her delve too deeply into her split from the religion that counts Tom Cruise and Kirstie Alley among its members, but at least she will be interesting to watch. She is a bit of a talker.

2.) Snooki: I, for one, REALLY hope Snooki is actually going to be on the show. She is a new mom, so I am sure she will have plenty to say about that. In addition, she is cute and spunky and will surely bring more sass and talent to the dance floor than past Jersey Shore alums (Situation, I am looking at you). It should be great fun to watch.

3.) Amber Riley: Amber is currently starring on hit show Glee, so it's unclear how she will juggle both. Regardless, it would be great fun to see someone who is CURRENTLY a star shake and shimmy on the dance floor. I also just have a feeling she'll be good.

4.) Elizabeth Berkley: Now we have TWO Saved by the Bell stars (Remini was also on briefly), but Berkley has the added bonus of having been on Showgirls. I am guessing she will be a ringer given her obvious dance background. It will be pretty interesting to see anyway.

5.) Christina Milian: I have nothing to say about this host of The Voice, but let's recall that Brooke Burke Charvet was also a host and she ended up dominating the competition. So we can't count her out!

This season is going to be hot, hot, hot. I can't wait to get the final confirmation.

What do you think of the rumors?
