'Game of Thrones: Rains of Castamere' Is the Episode We've All Been Waiting For (VIDEO)

game of thrones rains of castamereCan you believe it's finally here? Episode 9 of Game of Thrones, "The Rains of Castamere," is reportedly going to feature the Red Wedding, one of the craziest, OMFG, did that just happen moments in A Storm of Swords. Decisions from as far back as season 1 come to a head in an explosive, violent, ridiculous climax, and if you don't know what's coming (were you able to avoid the Internet for all this time?), please do not spoil it for yourself until June 2!

As with last season's "Blackwater," it seems that episode 9 is going to be the one to tune in to, while the final episode of season 3 (NO!!) will focus on the fallout from all the action. If "The Rains of Castamere" is as good as "Blackwater" -- well, this is why fans are so obsessed with this series!

All right, yes, the book has been out for years, but for you Game of Thrones non-readers, there are MASSIVE SPOILERS AHEAD. SPOILERS AHEAD. CAN I MAKE THESE LETTERS ANY LARGER?

Well, here is the official synopsis, which gives absolutely nothing away:

Robb presents himself to Walder Frey, and Edmure meets his bride. Jon faces his harshest test yet. Bran discovers a new gift. Daario and Jorah debate how to take Yunkai. House Frey joins with House Tully.

I'm a little surprised that Jon, Bran, Arya, even Daenerys will make an appearance in the Red Wedding episode, but hopefully most of it will focus on the big event. Here's what's going to go down. So Robb Stark, marrying another instead of Lord Walder Frey's daughter like he swore to do, realized he still needed the Freys for a military alliance. So he offered up his uncle Edmure Tully to marry a Frey daughter instead.

After learning about Robb's betrayal, Frey was secretly conversing with Tywin Lannister. They plotted to end the King of the North -- and they definitely succeeded.

When Robb, his mom Catelyn, his uncle, and all his bannermen arrive to the Twins where the wedding will take place, he immediately apologizes, and Catelyn asks for food to secure guest right (it's super bad karma to harm anyone who is a guest at one's, er, castle).

The wedding soon gets underway. Frey hired sellswords and knights who are dressed up as musicians, and he ensures that Robb's men get drunk. When the band begins playing "The Rains of Castamere," that's the signal to attack. Robb, his direwolf, Catelyn, and most of their 3,000 bannermen die. Tents outside collapse and are lighted on fire, and mostly everyone in the main hall are slaughtered. Roose Bolton is the one who kills Robb as Catelyn watches, while Catelyn's throat is cut.

Afterward, the Freys cut off Robb's and his direwolf Grey Wind's head, then sew Grey Wind's head onto Robb's body. Catelyn is stripped and thrown naked into a river.

Can you even imagine if they go through with showing Robb's body with his direwolf's head? I think the Internet will explode. OMG I cannot wait to see this!

To tide you over until then, here's the preview for episode 9. Certainly doesn't give much away:

Are you stoked to finally see the Red Wedding scene?
