american idol judgesEveryone is on the chopping block at American Idol -- even the judges! With the show seriously struggling with ratings, execs are considering cutting all four stars on the panel. That means Randy Jackson, along with newbies Mariah Carey, Nicki Minaj, and Keith Urban may all get a pink slip, according to The Wrap. For weeks there have been rumors that they want to bring Jennifer Lopez back, which would be great. During her tenure on the show, she was fantastic, connecting with the aspiring superstars and fans alike. But I say they need to think out of the box if they want to breath new life into the former hit. Take a look at our pick for a dream American Idol judges panel.

Who would you like to see on the show?

  • Boy George

Current tweens and teens may have no idea who he is, but their parents would love a Boy George comeback. He is the perfect star to advise and mentor a hoard of wannabe Idols. What they need to learn is how to stand out and be original and no one did that better than the "Karma Chameleon" singer.

  • Rihanna

Every judges panel needs a pop-princess du jour. Someone whose talented with a disastrous personal life, like Rihanna, would be perfect. The contestants will look up to her and fans will tune in to see if she's really as crazy as her personal, romantic choices suggest.

  • Lady Gaga

Is there really a more theatrical performer than this? She can teach them a lot about stage presence and being true to yourself, no matter what others may say. Plus, seeing what crazy couture she sports each show would be such a treat for the rest of us.

  • BillieJoe Armstrong

He'll bring a much needed edge to the show. The punk rock frontman for Green Day is all about keeping it real. If he thinks you are a poser, he'll call you out on it. Remember what he recently said about "Gangnam Style" creator PSY? "This dude is the herpes of music. Once you think it's gone, it comes back," Armstrong quipped. Yikes! But the show needs that kind of no-holds barred candor.

  • Ricky Gervais

The British comedian would be the perfect replacement for Ryan Seacrest. Sounds odd, I know, but give the thought a chance. As likable as Ryan is, he's a bit stiff, boring, and cheesy. That worked for the first 12 seasons, but it's time to try something new. Ricky would be hilarious. You never know what's going to come out of his mouth.
