'Girls' Star Allison Williams' Season 3 Storyline Will Be Way Sexier Without Charlie

allison williamsWhen Christopher Abbott up and left Girls in a huff, fans were left wondering what hung in the balance. How would season 3 be affected? Is Lena Dunham really that difficult to work with? What's going to happen to Marnie? Girls star Allison Williams, who plays the beautifully uptight Marnie, spoke to TVLine about the hole Christopher left, and how Marnie's going to get along without her boyfriend, Charlie.

She said that Chris' departure had:

[A] huge effect on our show and on Marnie specifically ... it’s almost as if we skipped her third season and have gone on to single Marnie ... The minute I heard the news, there wasn’t a single doubt in my mind that [the show's writing staff] would come up with great stuff for Marnie to be doing ... [Their split] means that Marnie is now piecing herself back together.

As much as I hate to think of what could've been (Charlie and Marnie walking hand in hand in Prospect Park; Charlie and Marnie feeding each other mangoes in bed; Charlie and Marnie doing it on Hannah's sofa), I am, on the other hand, looking forward to what SINGLE Marnie can bring to the table.

In season 2, she was piney and whiny about Charlie, and made an odd choice in dating Booth Jonathon. As long as the writers don't have Marnie spend season 3 crying over Charlie's untimely death by subway car, I think there's potential.

Plus, a single Marnie is a ready to mingle Marnie ... which leaves space open for more hot guest stars. Anyone else think Tim Riggins, I mean Taylor Kitsch, would make a great addition to one hot, sexy episode? Cool, me too.

What do you want to see in season 3?
