Justin Bieber Visits Anne Frank House & Leaves Outrageous Note in Guest Book

Justin BieberJustin Bieber has been caught up in some sticky situations lately, no doubt. From his monkey troubles, to allegedly spitting on a neighbor, the Biebs hasn't had an easy go of it. Some of it can just be chalked up to haters and hype, but this weekend, he made a made a big huge faux pas that can be blamed on no one but the boy wonder himself.

It happened yesterday when Justin was in Amsterdam, and decided to visit the Anne Frank House. While there, he spent about an hour touring the museum with some friends and his bodyguards. All well and good, but then he went and signed the guest book. You won't believe what he wrote.

According the museum's web page, he wrote: "Truly inspiring to be able to come here. Anne was a great girl. Hopefully she would have been a belieber."

Oh yes, he did ... in the book of one of the most famous Jewish victims of the Holocaust. Someone in his camp told TMZ he did it because he read she was a fan of pop culture during her time, but that does little to justify the pompous, self-promotional nature of his comment. Is there really any other way to read it?

The uproar over his note has been swift, strong, and well deserved. Some of the comments on the Anne Frank House Facebook page read:

Way to turn an inspiring moment into something about yourself.

What a immature and disgusting thing to write in her book! As an American I am truly sorry he went there and did this!

Grow up, Bieber. The world desperately needs more people like Anne Frank - not you. You would do well to become a true fan of Anne, rather than worry about whether Anne would have been a fan of yours.

And they go on ... and on. I'm sure he did it without thinking, but he really should have thought harder before writing that.

I'm not a huge Justin Bieber fan, but I always have had this soft, protective spot for him. I hate to see him bashed senselessly, as he so often is. This time, however, I think he deserves it. I hope he does the right thing and apologizes, and perhaps makes a big old donation to the museum.

What do you think of the note Justin Bieber wrote -- outrageous or understandable?
