And the Oscar for best recovery for a humiliating fall goes to ...

It was the most talked about moment of the night. Jennifer Lawrence face-planted as she rushed to claim her Best Actress Oscar. So embarrassing. You could hear the gasps as she struggled to get to her feet. Who would have thought something would get more attention than Anne Hathaway's nipple-showcasing gown. The only thing more shocking is that some people actually think J. Law took a tumble on purpose!

Could it be that the dramatic trip and fall was just Academy Award worthy acting? Sorry. I don't buy that. Yes, she is young and quirky, but I find it hard to believe she would besmirch the most important night in Hollywood that way. The suggestion is just ridiculous. When asked about it moments after leaving the stage, she quipped:

Was that on purpose? Absolutely! ... What do you mean what happened? Look at my dress! I tried to walk upstairs in this dress, that's what happened! I stepped on the fabric, and I think they wax the stairs.

Perfectly logical answer. She knows all too well what a nightmare those lavish gowns can be. Not long ago, she had another fashion disaster when her dress tore in half at the Screen Actors Guild Awards. Ugh. Unbelievable.

But this girl knows how to recover from a mortifying moment well. Her Oscar speech was phenomenal. She received a standing ovation once she finally got her footing and blushingly waved it off as pity from her peers. "You guys are just standing up because you feel bad that I fell -- it's really embarrassing. This is nuts!" Lawrence said. She then acknowledge her competition and costars and thanked her family before wishing French actress Emmanuelle Riva a happy 86th birthday, which fell on that night. Her dresses may rip and she may make an occasional face plant, but this young actress is a class act.
