mad men black and whiteFor Mad Men fans, it's almost been like Christmas all over again this week! Not only did we get a season 6 premiere date, but creator Matthew Weiner actually got chatty (in a vague way, but still) about what we can expect. And now, we've got promo pics from AMC!

The network release a whole handful of gorgeous, dramatic shots of the cast in black and white glory, decked to the nines in fantastic late-'60s style. Talk about a treat! Hoo hoo!

Here, the pics and more on what we have to look forward to in the penultimate season of Mad Men ...

It's Don Draper and his main women (ex-wife Betty, daughter Sally, and wife Megan)! And my, times -- and dresses and hairstyles -- have changed in the time that's passed between the end of season 5 and the start of season 6, it seems. That's one detail Weiner refuses to share right now. But he would say, to The New York Times, "It will advance in time, as it does. I can't say how much or how little. We're coming off a period in Don's life where he's trying to normalize, and trying to have this relationship -- a real relationship with this woman that he fell in love with. She expressed her desires, and that was a surprise for him. On this show, it's a very rich, full orchestra, and we like to follow what is the next stage in these people's lives." Psyched!

  • Independent Woman Peggy Olson

One of the biggest Qs we had at the conclusion of season 5 was whether Peggy Olson was gone for good or if she would ever return to SDCP. But of course she's back -- and I feel like we're really going to see her strike out on her own soon, which this photo definitely seems to emphasize.

Looks like everyone here, from Roger to Joan to Ken Cosgrove is having a blast, toasting to newfound success? Big new accounts? Looks like life is good in 1968 ...

  • Roger, Don, Joan & Peter Laugh It Up

Can't tell if Joan is checking out Don here or Roger ... But I really can't wait to see what happens between her and Roger. I'm such a fan of them together, and with their love child growing up and probably looking more and more like his real daddy, well, you never know what could happen ...  And whoa, check out Peter's rockin' '60s 'do. I'm diggin' it!
