Selena Gomez Sings 'Cry Me a River' To Justin Bieber & They Need a New Breakup Song (VIDEO)

Selena GomezAre they or aren't they? I mean, are they or aren't they? I'm talking about Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez, OBVIOUSLY. Did they break up? Are they still together? I CAN'T REST UNTIL I KNOW IF I HAVE A CHANCE WITH JUSTIN OMG!!

Okay, I'm kidding. I'm actually -- wait, let's check Wikipedia -- yup, I'm older than his mom. Wow. Can we just have a moment of mildly horrified silence for that little depressing factoid? […] Okay, anyway,  I think we officially have an answer on whether or not Bieber and Gomez broke up for REAL.

Assuming that singing "Cry Me a River" is the new "I just want to publicly humiliate you be friends," that is. In the grand tradition of Justin Timberlake dissing Britney Spears, last weekend it was Selena Gomez's turn to tell Bieber to cry, cry her a river, cry her a river-errr.

If you're thinking that there's something a little familiar-sounding about this song being performed as a not-so-secret message between the onetime lovebirds, you're right. Bieber performed Timberlake's infamous anthem just two months ago after what was reportedly their last breakup.

Selena's version happened onstage last Saturday for a private concert benefiting UNICEF, and she prefaced the acoustic performance by saying that "This song definitely speaks to me." She didn't quite come right out and say, THIS IS FOR YOU BIEBER, but she did make some vague comments about what's been going on lately:

I've been through a lot the past few months. It's been weird and sad and cool.

Here's the clip:

Aw, man. It really seems like these two are never ever ever getting back together, like ever. Which is maybe why she also sang a Taylor Swift song, "I Knew You Were Trouble," the same night -- telling the crowd,

It's by my best friend in the entire world and if anybody has felt anything painful to their heart, they know who this girl is. Sing along if you know it.

Your move, Bieber -- but maybe it's time to pick a new song. "You Oughta Know"? "Somebody That I Used to Know?" "Against All Odds?" I'm just saying, I think the Timberlake thing is getting a little old.

Do you think Selena Gomez was singing 'Cry Me a River' about Justin Bieber?
