Kanye West Is Smart to Raise His Baby Away From the Kardashians

Kim Kardashian & Kanye WestTurn off the lights, the party's over -- or at least the party surrounding Kim Kardashian and Kanye West's baby announcement is already wrapping up. (Geez, can't two people enjoy a babymoon in Paris in peace?)

I mean, this baby is months away from being born, and already he/she is creating a good deal of Kardashian drama, which is a good indicator that this child will fit in with the fam just fine.

And believe it or not, of all things, a major source of the family baby drama involves Kim and Kanye's new $11 million Bel Air mansion.

Apparently Kim was set on living in L.A. so she'll be close to the rest of her family when her little one arrives (those Kardashians like to stick together). Apparently Bel Air isn't quite the neighborhood of L.A. that mama Kris was hoping for.

Supposedly Kris Jenner wanted Kim and Kanye to live in Calabasas -- yep, where she and Bruce Jenner live. Bel Air and Calabasas may not be that far apart, but when it comes to the Kardashians, they might as well be a world away from each other.

And now there's reportedly all sorts of fighting and drama going on, which has to be putting a huge damper on Kim's newfound pregnancy bliss. (Such a shame.)

Kim and Kanye want their privacy and are eager to start their new lives together -- and of course, the "in-laws" (we'll call them that even though Kimye isn't married) have to stick their noses in and interfere. What a drag.

But hopefully the parents-to-be will stick to their guns and do what's best for them and their future baby. They'll probably be a whole lot happier in Bel Air where there is some distance between them and the rest of the crew.

Don't get me wrong, having family around to help with a new baby is awesome, or at least I'm guessing it is. When our son was born, my husband and I were living in Denver, and both of our families were back on the east coast -- so it was just the three of us.

Nobody came over to sit with the baby for a couple hours so we could take a nap. Nobody threw in a load of laundry for us. And nobody cooked us dinner or gave us pre-made casseroles to store in our freezer.

And I won't lie, it was really, really hard taking care of a newborn on our own, but at the same time, I think it was probably good for us in a way too. Instead of relying on other people to help us or bail us out when we felt like we were in over our heads -- we had no choice but to figure out parenting on our own. I actually think we did a pretty decent job.

Kim and Kanye have no idea how much their lives are about to change, and the more they are left to figure out on their own, the better. (And somehow I'm guessing they took that very idea into consideration when they chose to purchase their new pad.)

Do your family members live close by? Is it easier raising your baby with their help?
