There are certain pairs we simply can't live without: peanut butter and jelly, ketchup and fries, and this beloved Hollywood couple. The utter thought of Mila Kunis leaving Ashton Kutcher is one we won't entertain but almost happened. (Spoiler alert: They're obviously fine, so no need for hysteria.)

Mila and Ashton took their relationship from friends to "friends with benefits" seemingly months before his split from Demi became public.

E! News reports Mila spoke about Ashton being single for a year-plus prior to them becoming a thing.

(See, no celebrity scandal here.)

But their romance (or "understanding") hit a snag that almost made Mila walk away.

"We're going to have fun, we're going to respect each other," Mila Kunis mentioned recently on the WTF podcast with Marc Maron about her casual relationship with Ashton. "Once one of us starts having any sort of attachment feelings we have to start talking about it. Not quash it, you have to talk about it. Because that way if the other person by any chance shares those feelings or not, we don't become resentful toward one another."

"I felt like I got punched in the gut," she told Marc Maron on his WTF podcast about Ashton mentioning another woman.-placeholder

"I felt like I got punched in the gut," she told Marc Maron on his WTF podcast about Ashton mentioning another woman.

"I was like, 'Oh my god, I'm in love with this man and I have to walk away because this is not the agreement that we had and so I'm going to speak up,'" she continued.

As a result, Mila approached Ashton about her feelings and almost bid adieu to their relationship. "I was like, 'I'm just going to let you know, when a, b and c happened, I know that I had all of a sudden a very different reaction to it and I respect us and I respect you, and so I'm going to bail.' And I left the house."

"I f--ked up enough in my previous relationships enough to know that, like, just f--k it, be honest. I don't want to become resentful and I don't want to get into a place where I do something dumb again. And so I was like, f--k this s--t, I'm just going to completely, fully transparent and he was the same exact way. And so it was easier for me to tell him that I was having feelings than to get to a place where I was resentful of the fact that he, in my mind, wasn't."

Thankfully, Ashton showed up to Mila's door the following day to ask her to take their love to the next level by moving in together.

"He showed up at my house and he was like, 'Let's move in together,'" the celeb mom revealed on the podcast. "He goes, 'I'm not going to lose you.' And that was it."

And the rest is history.

Mila and Ashton welcomed their daughter, Wyatt, in 2014, the same year they got engaged. The former costars tied the knot in 2015 and added to their clan by one in 2016, welcoming their son, Dimitri, to the world.

Cheers to your happily ever after.

Seriously, y'all are the cutest.
