Lisa Vanderpump’s New Spin-Off Show Might Make Her the Next Bethenny Frankel -- In a Bad Way

lisa vanderpumpFile this one under: GIGANTIC EYE-ROLL AND MASSIVE AUDIBLE SIGH. Lisa Vanderpump of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills recently stated that her new show, the terribly titled Vanderpump Rules, came to fruition because her life was "too big" to stay within in the confines of one measly reality show. She also added that that aspect of her life "spoke volumes to Bravo", and warranted its own show.

Lisa. Honey. Sweetie. Don't do it. Please don't make me turn on you. I love you. You are hands-down my favorite out of all the Housewives -- we're talking all franchises here. Don't go and get too big for your britches. I don't want to love to hate you. I just want to love you. Will you let me do that, please?

I'm still holding out. At the time of typing this, I am still a card-carrying member of Team Lisa Vanderpump -- but to be honest, if history has taught us anything, I wouldn't be shocked if Lisa winds up being ... less likable.

I'm going to be honest here. I used to be a big Bethenny Frankel fan. She was my favie-bear on RHONY, and I was genuinely disappointed when she left the show. Then, when she got her own show, I was delighted, and hell yeah I watched. But my relationship with Bethenny wound up taking a turn for the worse.

She started complaining. A lot. And her business started growing -- like wildfire, actually. But the complaining kept coming. And coming. And coming. And coming until basically every episode was Bethenny complaining to her gaggle of assistants who won't make in a lifetime what she makes in a year about everything being "too much". It was annoying. And I jumped ship on Bethenny. (Sort of.) And no, I don't think it was a case of building people up just to knock them down. I really think Bethenny changed.

And I don't want that to happen to Lisa.

The thing that Lisa has going for her, though, is that she's always been balls-to-the-wall rich. It isn't like she's suddenly come into a pile of money and she's going to start being annoying about it. But she is more famous than ever. And as we all know, Bravolebritydom has a tendency to make people go insane.

Lisa does have that accent, though, I guess. So even if she does get annoying, it'll still be fun to listen to her.

Do you think Lisa will get too big for her britches?
