Jared Leto's Creepy Shaved Eyebrows & 6 Other Crazy Movie Facial Hair Transformations (PHOTOS)

Jared LetoI don't mean to freak you out, but there's a picture floating around of Jared Leto that is really, really disturbing. I mean, I've always thought he was an intense-looking dude, but that was before he shaved off his eyebrows. Now that I've seen what he looks like with a hairless face ... wow. Just, wow. He's got sort of a Loki-from-Avengers-meets-that-dude-from-Powder thing going on.

Jared Leto apparently removed his eyebrows (and, like, half his body weight??) for an upcoming role as a cross-dresser in The Dallas Buyers Club, and the results are fairly startling. I might go so far as to say this is the biggest facial hair transformation an actor has even committed to, but let's see how Leto compares to some of the most famous face-hair looks in movie history:

Johnny Depp in Pirates of the Caribbean:

The beads, the braided goatee, the deliberately-anchor-shaped mustache ... so much awesome in one crush-worthy face.

Tom Selleck in ... well, everything.

Best mustache in the history of entertainment, am I right?

John Rhys-Davies in Lord of the Rings.

This poor actor seriously suffered for his art, as he was allergic to the hair and facial prosthetics used to transform him into Gimli, but that is one mighty fine beard.

Hugh Jackman as Wolverine.

Mmmmm ... is anyone else craving mutton?

Jack Nicholson in The Shining.

Those wonderfully maniacal eyebrows have always been all his, of course, but I think they deserve an honorary mention for their powerful contribution to this particular film. "Heeeere's Johnny!"

Wes Bentley in The Hunger Games.

Just look at that majestic beard, which took a jaw-dropping three hours for makeup artist Ve Neill to sculpt each day. While Leto definitely gets props for looking really scary and more than a little vampiric, I'm giving the award to Bentley for Most Awesome Facial Hair Transformation by Any Actor, Ever.

What do you think of Leto's freaky no-brows? Who else should be on this list?
