Kardashians Banned From South Beach & May Be Headed the Way of 'Jersey Shore'

KardashiansTalk about a slap in their pretty faces. Apparently hip, happenin' South Beach wants nothing to do with keeping up with the Kardashian sisters. Instead, they want to keep them out.

According to Radar Online, residents there are so up in arms about the sisters invading their hood that they've banned them from living there while filming Kourtney & Kim Take Miami.  The sisters had reportedly picked out three homes they found suitable to inhabit for three months of filming, but in order to move in they had to have the support of 90 percent of homeowners within 500 feet. The support they did not get, as residents said they didn't want the interruption to their daily lives.

It kind of reminds me of some other once-popular reality TV show stars who started getting banned from various locales. And it's not a good sign of what may be to come for the famous family.

We're talking Jersey Shore, of course. From Hoboken to Point Pleasant beach, there's a list of cities that said no when it came to Snooki & JWOWW filming their spin-off. Not only that, there are hordes of bars in Jersey City (where they ended up filming season one) that won't let them in with cameras either. And we all know what happened to Jersey Shore, and how painful this final season is as they long overstayed their welcome in our world.

The truth is the Kardashians just don't have the same klout they used to, and if South Beach -- the loud, gaudy, swanky, hippest place in the south -- doesn't want them, then I'm afraid their show's final season may not be far behind.

A description of the digs they've had to settle for in "gloomy" North Miami is downright depressing. A source told the site, “The area is known for its hourly hotels, strip clubs and high crime rate. It’s a far-cry from their usual posh digs, with just a 7-Eleven and an abandoned old bank close by.” Wonder how much of that we'll see on air?

Of course, no matter what happens with their reality shows, and no matter how much people salute South Beach for this move, it doesn't mean the Kardashians are going anywhere. They are some of the most diversified celebrities out there with businesses and deals galore. From Khloe's X Factor gig to Kris Jenner's desire to represent Honey Boo Boo, this family is going to be with us for a long, long while whether South Beach or anyone else wants them to be or not.

Are you surprised to learn that South Beach has banned the Kardashians?
