Julianne Moore's Jewelry Was Stolen & What Have We Learned About Safety Deposit Boxes?

julianne mooreOkay, I've never been in Julianne Moore's position, so I really can't judge. Which is to say, I've never had $127,000 worth of jewelry stolen, because I've never had $127,000 worth of jewelry. But I kind of feel like if I ever did own $127,000 worth of jewelry, I probably wouldn't leave it in my NYC brownstone for the summer while I went off to film a movie somewhere. Especially if my brownstone were under construction at the time. Because I probably wouldn't know each of the 15 to 20 workers personally -- not well enough to trust them around my $127,000 worth of jewelry, anyway.

Still, like I said, I've never been in Julianne Moore's position, so I can't really wonder aloud why she wouldn't maybe lock all that jewelry up in a safe deposit box somewhere while she was away.

But I'm going to do it anyway! WHY wouldn't Julianne Moore lock up all those jewels before inviting a bunch of strangers to have their way with her home ... in her absence?!

Maybe Julianne Moore is just a super-trusting person. To the point of being a bit on the naive side. Or maybe everything was just really hectic right before she went away, like things usually are right before anybody goes away for a couple of months, and she was trying to tie up all the loose ends, but come on, she's only one person, you guys!! So she forgot about locking up the jewelry, okay?!

Anyway. She did file a report with the police once she discovered the jewels were missing. Though at this time, no arrests have been made. Oh well. I guess, since she's an extremely wealthy movie star, she can always buy more baubles. Which, you know, maybe explains why she wasn't so careful with them in the first place.

Who do you think stole Julianne Moore's jewelry?
