Kate Middleton's Cheap Hair Clips Aren't Fit for a Princess (PHOTO)

Prince William, AKA "The Non-Naked/Genital-Cupping Prince," and Kate Middleton are currently in Singapore for their Southeast Asian and Pacific tour honoring Queen Elizabeth's Diamond Jubilee -- which has been going on forever. Wills looked dashing in some clothes and a tie, and Kate -- ah, Kate. She looked gorgeous as usual in a cream Jenny Packham kimono-style dress. Her skin was glowing, her makeup was flawless, and her hair ... was held back by those little claw-like hair clips that we all use to pin back our bangs when we're washing our faces. That's not very royal.

You know the kind I'm talking about, right? Those little packs of clips you pick up at Target or Walgreens or when you're about to check out at the grocery store.

These bad boys:

clipsI mean, personally, I think they're great. I wear them all the time. But ... I'm sitting behind a computer 200 hours a day. Who gives a crap what my rat's nest of hair looks like? I'm kind of surprised Kate's "hair people" didn't, I don't know, twist her tendrils into a flower or something, and pin them back that way? A mini claw-clip -- that's so "just like us."

But, of course, this is one of the reasons we love the Duchess so much. Despite living in a palace with a prince and royal subjects, she repeats outfits, does her own makeup, and wears 99-cent hair clips to events during a royal tour. I mean, seriously, how can you not like this woman?

Do you wear these hair clips to "fancy" events ever?
