Never Mind Those Heidi Klum Cheating Allegations, Seal Was Just Tired

SealYou know that ugly stuff Seal said about Heidi Klum cheating on him with her bodyguard, Martin Kirsten, during their marriage? That stuff that got us thinking maybe Heidi wasn't the kind of stand-up girl we thought/hoped/wanted her to be and more like a cheating vixen who may have wrecked her marriage? Yeah, well, never mind! Seal didn't mean it -- he was just tired.

Or that's about the gist of what his rep told Us Weekly this evening.

To recap quickly in case you're not up to speed on this divorce mess: In April, Heidi and Seal split. For awhile it seemed like it was going to be amicable; a reconciliation even seemed possible. Then things turned nasty, and this past Friday Seal came out swinging in an interview with TMZ accusing Heidi of "fornicating with the help."

Whether he intended to or not at the time, his words clearly led many to believe he meant that she had cheated on him during their marriage. His exact words:

I would have preferred Heidi show a little bit more class and at least wait until we separated first before deciding to fornicate with the help, as it were.

Yesterday Klum adamantly denied his allegations, and her rep told Us, "It is sad that Seal has to resort to this kind of behavior and spread these untruths about the mother of his children." Of course that did little to clear Heidi from suspicion because almost all cheaters (Kristen Stewart aside) initially deny cheating.

So Seal does deserve some credit for coming forward now and trying to clear Heidi's name a little bit. His rep told the magazine: "Seal would like to clarify that he was not implying his wife was cheating while they were together, but he was merely pointing out that their separation and divorce were not final and they are still legally married."

Well that's something all together different now, isn't it? And apparently he feels bad about how everything went down ... as he should. A source told the magazine:

These guys bombarded him and were in his face. He was exhausted, which is why he wants to clarify what he said. He doesn't like now being made into the bad guy here -- he always loved and cared for Heidi.
So much better, right?  However, while it's nice to see Seal try to take back some of what he said, the fact is he can never really completely undo the damage it did. "No comment" would have saved everyone a whole lot of heartache and stress. Hopefully, this will serve as a lesson to him and to others that throwing out accusations and hurling insults in the press only ends up hurting everyone involved, not the least of whom being the innocent children caught in the middle of it all.

Do you think Seal intended to make it seem like Heidi cheated during the marriage? What do you think of his retraction?
