Robert Pattinson in 'Bel Ami' Makes the Ultimate Sexy Sleazeball (VIDEO)

bel amiHere's the good news about Bel Ami, the new Robert Pattinson period drama co-starring Uma Thurman, Christina Ricci, and Kristin Scott Thomas: RPattz looks damn fine in a top hat. And all the other super-fancy stuff guys wore in 19th-century Paris. (The better news? He looks even more fine out of the super-fancy stuff, if you get what I'm saying.)

Okay, ready for the not-so-good news?

As unbelievable as this is going to sound, it's virtually impossible to like RPattz as social-climbing ex-soldier Georges Duroy.

Which means he's doing an awesome job as an actor, don't get me wrong! But still ...

Georges Duroy is SUCH a creep!! At first you feel kind of bad for him, because you're like, Awww, he's poor and struggling and he just got back from the desert and he's so handsome ... and then he starts sleazily seducing rich ladies and it's all downhill from there.

Actually, not yet. Duroy's first conquest is Clotilde, played by Christina Ricci, and for a while there it seems like he really loves her. Yeah, she's married and all, but that seems to be how they roll in 19th century Paris so whatevs.

But THEN he starts to get jealous and weird, and that's when he turns into this gross, scheming, reptilian misogynist hell-bent on destroying everyone around him, including Madame Forestier (Uma Thurman in one of her best performances in years) and Virginie (a whimpering Kristin Scott Thomas).

I'm not going to ruin the ending for you, because oh man, you're gonna be sitting there with your jaw on the floor, all like, RPattz! How could you?! Edward Cullen would never do something like that!! For shame, for shame!!

Are you planning on seeing Bel Ami? Do you think you'll love RPattz just as much playing a sleazeball?
