Lamar Odom Can Save His Career by 'Keeping Up With the Kardashians' (VIDEO)

lamar odomIt sounds like Lamar Odom is getting ready to make a pretty gutsy career move, and surprisingly, it has absolutely nothing to do with basketball. You see, he's been in a bit of a funk ever since he was released by the Dallas Mavericks (poor dude) -- so he's looking to change things up a bit as far as his chosen profession goes.

And believe it or not, he's taking cues from the Kardashians on how to capitalize on his fame even further. You know, by venturing further into the field of acting with a career in reality TV. Wait a minute -- reality TV is scripted? I thought each and every single moment captured on those shows is supposed to be happening in "real" time! (Great. Now I'm disappointed.)

Supposedly Lamar thinks he has the potential to be the next big thing on the small screen -- and honestly, venturing into showbiz could lead him to a major comeback. On the court, that is.

You know the whole "the grass is greener on the other side" concept? Based on my own personal experience, there's quite a bit of truth in it. Sometimes you don't realize exactly how good things in your life are until you make a big change. Lamar has to be more than a little intrigued by the $40 million contract his wife's famous family just singed for three more seasons of Keeping Up With the Kardashians, and he probably thinks that he can go way further with a TV gig than he can as a sports star. But somehow I'm not so sure about that.

More from The Stir: Will Lamar Odom Lose Fans When They Smell His Cologne?

I may be wrong, but something tells me if Lamar gets out of the basketball arena for good and has cameras following him around 24/7 instead -- he'll really start to miss dribbling and dunking. And having all that extra time to sit around and wait for producers to tell him what to say and when to say it may be exactly what he needs to refocus and get his head back in the game once and for all. Ahh -- the sweet smell of redemption.
