Photos From 'The Carrie Diaries' Prove This Show Has a Chance (VIDEO)

annasophia robbTime to break out your Bangles tape and rock out '80s-style because Warner Brothers has just released the first photos of AnnaSophia Robb as a young Carrie Bradshaw on the set of The Carrie Diaries. The series is based on Carrie's trials and triumphs as a fashion intern in New York City in the late 1980s, and if these photos are any indication, the CW is doing the role, and the series, justice.

From the big, curly hair to the oh-so-'80s fashions, AnnaSophia embodies everything "Carrie" as she navigates her early 20s in the Big Apple.

The casting directors nailed it with AnnaSophia -- so glad she got the part over Blake Lively, Emma Roberts, Miley Cyrus, and Dianna Agron. It's not that those ladies wouldn't do well, I just think it's important that a relative unknown tackle a role we all know so well. The less baggage, in this case, the better.

The executive producer said in a statement that she knew AnnaSophia was the one right away.

When AnnaSophia Robb walked into the room, we knew we had found her. Her grace, intelligence, sense of fun, and her empathetic nature make her the perfect girl to bring our young Carrie to life. The fact that she loves a gorgeous pair of heels doesn't hurt either.

We've found our new "it" girl, haven't we? Only a matter of time before AnnaSophia is everywhere. But from the sound of things, I won't mind learning more about her or The Carrie Diaries. I dare say I'm even looking forward to this inevitable media blitz.

Are you looking forward to The Carrie Dairies? (We won't know until May when the CW will air the show, BTW.)
