Billy Crystal's 5 Best Oscar Moments (VIDEOS)

Billy Crystal Hannibal LecterOne more day until the 2012 Oscars. And you know what that means? Billy Crystal.

The comedian will be back tomorrow to host the Academy Awards after his seven year hiatus, and I'm not gonna lie, I'm sort of relieved. Yeah, this will be his ninth time hosting the show, but let's be honest, the MCs in the past few years, save for Hugh Jackman, have been kind of jank. I'm staring daggers at you, comatose James Franco.

So, let's get excited for Billy. And let's get excited for the Oscars in general. Here are Billy Crystal's five best Oscar moments. And here's to this year's show not being a snooze-fest.

Billy's first time hosting. The 62nd Academy Awards in 1990 were the first time Crystal took a crack at the gig -- and it was awesome. So awesome that he was asked back the next four years in a row. Also, it was the first time he did one of those song medley things things he does so well.

Billy as Hannibal Lecter. 1992. The year that Anthony Hopkins and fava beans were all the rage. Crystal was wheeled out wearing a freaky mask a la Hannibal, and weirded everybody out. In a good way. (Fun fact: Silence of the Lambs won Best Picture that year. "The More You Know...")

Billy's "What the Stars Are Thinking" skit. A classic skit that's since been duplicated a thousand times. One of my favorites.

Billy's 2004 opening. Crystal appeared in the various films that were nominated that year -- Pirates of the Caribbean, Something's Gotta Give, and or course, Lord of the Rings. Crystal made a delightful Golum.

Billy's appearance at the 2011 Oscars. The show was a complete bust last year, but a small glimmer of hope appeared when Crystal took the stage to introduce a segment on Bob Hope -- the only person to host the show more times than he.

What's your favorite Billy Crystal Oscar moment? Are you looking forward to the show this year?
