If Madonna Were Rob Gronkowski, She'd Suck It Up

madonna super bowlMadonna is built like a brick house. You've seen her Gollum-like hands. There isn't an ounce of weakness in her body, and she wants you to know it. She may be 53, but she will still out-work you, out-perform you, and out-do you more so than anyone else out there. It doesn't matter if you're a professional football player, either. She has no tolerance for any sort of physical or mental deficiency. Take what she had to say about New England Patriots tight end, Rob Gronkowski. The guy's got a sprained ankle and is iffy to start in the Super Bowl on Sunday, and when the Material Girl was asked what she thought of his situation, she bit down, hard.

She was basically like, well I would play. Pain is only weakness leaving the body. Rrroar! And then she beat her chest and started singing "Ray of Light" in double time. Sort of. Here's what she told Fox 25 in Boston:

Well a lot of people would say that I'm a bit of a masochist. I would just tape my ankle and say prayers, take an anti-inflammatory and get my butt out there.

Boom. Take that, Gronkowski. An ankle sprain wouldn't stop Madonna from doing anything at all. In fact, she probably sprains both ankles on purpose before a show just to feel alive when she dances her ass off for two hours in front of a stadium full of people.

It's no shock that Madonna has an unparalleled work ethic. You can't get to where she's gotten in life by doing anything half-assed. Her motivation, concentration, and perseverance made her into one of the world's biggest pop stars -- throw in some talent and that's one unstoppable combination.

I've seen enough football movies and TV shows (hello, best show ever, Friday Night Lights) to know that Gronkowski's probably cut from a similar cloth. I'm sure he's dying to play in the Super Bowl, but it's up to those mean old docs to decide if he's healthy enough.

But if he needs a pep talk, maybe he should find Madonna during halftime. They could growl and grunt and jump up and down and psych themselves up to give the best performances of their lives. Then sing "Ray of Light" again. Grrr! Go team, go.

What do you think about Madonna's comments on Gronkowski?
