'Ferris Bueller' Is Back -- and Middle Aged (VIDEO)

Matthew Broderick in Honda's Super Bowl commercial

If you'd be all in for a Ferris Bueller's Day Off sequel, raise your hand! Oooh, oooh, pick me! How could anyone NOT be? Back in 1986, Bueller was so totally actor Matthew Broderick at his best! Well get PUMPED up, everyone, because it looks like we may just be getting what we've always wanted. Erm, sort of.

Yes, Ferris is returning, just on a much smaller scale -- in a Super Bowl commercial

The scoop is that Broderick's starring in a Ferris-themed Super Bowl commercial for Honda. The spot's going to mimic all the goodness of the original film, except this time, throw in a couple of Hondas. Sounds easy enough, right? Remember when Cam's father's beautiful prized Ferrari accidentally falls to its demise in the woods? Imagine a Honda CR-V in its place, instead. That sort of thing.

Broderick may be a tad older now (he was 23 at the time of FBDO), but I'm still pulling for some of the same Buellertastic goodness with the Super Bowl commercial. There's gotta be a token girl (maybe wife Sarah Jessica Parker will make an appearance?), a "villain," and the same kind of carefree attitude that so many of us fell in love with 26 years ago. Oooh, how I'd love a full-on parade loaded with Hondas with Matty at the helm! Now that sounds like a good time.

Are you a fan of Ferris Bueller's Day Off? Will you be watching the Super Bowl for the game, or the commercials?
