Gwyneth Paltrow Gives New BFF Courtney Love Advice for 2012

courtney love and gwyneth paltrowLet's play a game. It's called Unlikeliest Celeb Friendships Ever (EVER!). I'll throw out a celebrity's name, and you tell me which fellow celeb you'd least expect to be her new BFF. Here goes: Gwyneth Paltrow. Now it's your turn! Lindsay Lohan? Nope. Kim Kardashian? No, not even close! One of the cast members of Teen Mom? Wrong again!

Give up? Okay, get ready ... Gwyneth Paltrow's latest pal is none other than Courtney Love. It's true! The pair is apparently so buddy-buddy that Love even tweeted about the invaluable advice her "true friend" gave her on New Year's Eve.

Oh, to be a fly on the wall of ... wherever it was in Abu Dhabi that Paltrow's husband Chris Martin of Coldplay reportedly received $1.5 million to give a "special" NYE concert. If only we could have heard Gwynnie's wise words for the rocker with our very own ears!

I bet the conversation would have gone something like this ...

Courtney Love: Gwyn, you know, it's like, I just want people to get me. You know? I want people to really get what I'm all about. Like, there's this persona I can't shake. That whole Sid and Nancy thing, it's so over, you know? Like who even gives a $#*&?!

Gwyneth Paltrow: Well, Courtney, it's like I said in a recent GOOP newsletter: "When we judge others' foibles and personality traits, what does it really say about us?" I've found the best way to rid yourself of negative energy is with a detoxifying hydrotherapy session at a low-key Japanese spa. Or you might try a good cleanse. A sluggish colon is your worst enemy.

Courtney Love: Yeah, that sounds cool. Like my foibles are so much worse than the next rock star's, right? I kind of don't care but people are such *%$&#@!$, you know? And I just want to be taken seriously. That's why I kind of lose it sometimes and say %$&* I shouldn't say and then the press does their whole thing about how I'm out of control again. What the %*^# do I say to those #$%&^*#@?

Gwyneth Paltrow: Well, Courtney, it's like I said in a recent GOOP newsletter: "How do you distinguish if someone in your life makes you change for the better or if you're better off without them?" I've found a bit of meditation really helps me to find my center and tune into my inner wisdom.

Courtney Love: Yeah ... remember hard drugs? (Sighs wistfully.)

Gwyneth Paltrow: No ... remember hard cheese? (Sighs wistfully.)

What kind of advice do you think Gwyneth Paltrow gave Courtney Love?
