Scott Disick in 'American Psycho' Remake Is a Kardashian Win (VIDEO)

But that could change, if author Bret Easton Ellis has anything to say about it. He's the author of American Psycho, the book that inspired the 2000 hit flick starring Christian Bale. And now -- because Hollywood can't think to do anything but recycle films that aren't even 12 years old -- there's talk of a remake. Ellis knows exactly who he wants to play Patrick Bateman -- none other than Kourtney Kardashian's baby daddy, Scott Disick.

The author recently tweeted, "I have warned Lionsgate that I will not approve a new version of 'American Psycho' unless it stars SCOTT DISICK or MILES FISHER ... I am waiting for Scott Disick to ask: 'Who in the hell is Bret Easton Ellis?'" But Ellis underestimated Disick, because he quickly replied, "Not going to happen, I know just who u r!"

What?! This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for him and the Kardashian klan!

Strangely, only days prior to his exchange with Ellis, Disick had tweeted, "i hope they call me!" Um, yes, hello -- he is perfect for this role, and he knows it!

I could understand why he (and the Kardashian PR machine, perhaps?) wouldn't want to do it. He's already so hated, this would just reinforce the idea that he's a totally crazy jerk! But to that I say, so what?! Yeah, he is already so despised by anyone who has spent at least five minutes watching him on E!, so why not go with that? Use it, man! Make some serious bucks off your baaaaad reputation.

Then again, is Scott Disick as Patrick Bateman something we actually want to watch two-plus hours of? We know the guy is sure to have absolutely no acting ability -- especially when compared to the positively brilliant Bale. The entire project would end up being much more comedy than black comedy. Still, hey, if Lionsgate and Ellis think the role can be carried on looks alone, and Ellis couldn't care less about how the book is interpreted in the (totally unnecessary) remake, Disick is most definitely the man for the job.

Need further proof? Look no further than this highly convincing video ...

Hilarious! At the very least, if he was cast, Disick wouldn't need the costuming department to lift a finger!

What do you think -- should Scott Disick play Patrick Bateman?
