Kate Middleton’s Christmas Wardrobe Sounds Miserable

kate middletonUntil this morning, I thought Kate Middleton had everything. A title, a prince, a castle, hair that just won't quit shining, and some of the best-looking dresses on the planet. Then I read what her Christmas wardrobe will consist of and every ounce of envy that I once held is now gone. Word is that she'll have to wear five outfits on December 25. Five planned, structured, tailored, and decidedly un-casual looks that will take her from the morning through the night.

I don't know about you, but the only thing I like to wear on the big day is pajamas and wrapping paper hats. Poor, poor Kate. Check out what's she's being told to wear.

A palace insider told Grazia that Kate will need "a casual outfit for breakfast, a smart outfit — and a hat — for the morning church service, a dress for lunch, a cocktail dress for early evening drinks, and a full-length dress for the evening meal."

I'm exhausted just thinking about it. Can you imagine putting on clothes Christmas morning? Then more clothes, then a hat, then a dress, then a gown? Seriously, my parents are lucky if I change into a skirt for Christmas dinner. When I'm not gobbling up turkey and plum pudding (I'm in it for the hard sauce), I'm wearing snowman pajama pants and a sweatshirt stained with chocolate sprinkles and candy cane stickiness. I'm also on the floor of the living room playing with the new toys and asking my sister to pump up the Christmas jams.

So when the holiday finally gets here, my heart will go out to the Duchess. Three hundred and sixty four days a year, I'd switch places with her in a heartbeat, but not on Christmas. Her day sounds terrible. Five outfit changes are four too many.

What do you wear on Christmas?
