Truth About Natalie Wood's Mysterious Death May Soon Come Out

Natalie WoodWhen Natalie Wood fell overboard and drowned off Catalina Island in 1981, I was too young to even speak. But for years afterwards, I remember hearing the whispers that perhaps her death was not so "accidental" at all. Now, 30 years later, her death is finally being investigated as a homicide and Wood will get some justice. But what really happened?

The night Wood died over Thanksgiving weekend in 1981. She was on a boat with her husband Robert Wagner and her costar Christopher Walken. She disappeared and was later found drowned in a cove of Catalina.

The beautiful actress had been the star of many films including West Side Story and Rebel Without a Cause, but it was her mysterious death that made her a legend. Now we might finally get some answers three decades later.

The case has been reopened after new evidence surfaced, allegedly from the Captain of the million dollar yacht. The death has long been steeped in mystery, though. At just 43, Natalie was in the prime of her life, married (for the second time to the same man) to Robert Wagner and the mother of two young girls. People near by claim they heard cries for help and then the calm reply from the boat that help was coming. And then nothing.

Her body was found later.

Wood's sister and other have always said there was more to her death than a simple accident and now, maybe, we will know the truth.

For her daughters, both of whom are now in their late 30's/early 40's, it would be such a relief to finally have justice for their mother and really understand what happened. Thirty years is a long time, but it is never too late for the truth.
