Justin Timberlake Thanks Military in Unbelievable Way

justin timberlake For a while there, Marine Corps Ball invitations were flying around to the celeb population like wildfire. I had my doubts as to whether or not my biggest celeb crush EVER, Justin Timberlake, would actually follow through on his promise to attend one with Corporal Kelsey De Santis. I wanted him to, obviously, but the stud's in high demand!

The fact that Timberlake DID attend the Marine Corps Ball in Richmond, Virginia this weekend speaks wonders of his character. What I love even more is that the experience meant so much to him. He posted his thoughts on his website, and in it, he called De Santis his hero:

"To all of you that serve every day for us ... Ensuring our freedom, I say: My deepest gratitude to you. I've met so many of my heroes ... From Michael Jordan to Michael Jackson. And, nothing makes me feel more honor and pride than when I get to meet one of you. Last night changed my life and I will never forget it."

Cue overwhelming emotion and tears.

Justin could have gone to the ball, showed face, snapped a few photos, and called it a day. However, the response JT wrote on his website shows the deep, legitimate impact the night had on him. It shows that the evening was much more than a publicity stunt.

Arguably the most moving part of Justin's recap of the evening in Virginia was the bit about a video played during the event. In the video, Marines spoke about their first-hand experiences in the service. In that moment, the 30-year-old former *N'SYNC frontman felt honored and speechless:

I glanced around the room at young men and women, spouses and soldiers ... At kids way beyond their years, really ... All so deeply entwined. Not just by battle, even though we who have never endured anything remotely close to those experiences and have NO position to comment on ... But, by having such life changing experiences through them and to not ever waver in their love and respect for our homeland. That's what I saw. A faith in us that has been tested time and time again. And, through it all, NEVER a drop of doubt. I was truly moved.

Sigh. I'm falling more and more in love with him by the second. Justin's emotions are totally spot-on. Being around anyone who has spent time serving our country is such an eye-opening experience. As an Army girlfriend constantly surrounded by seasoned veterans, I'm always hearing stories of difficult missions and time spent abroad. Let me tell you: They never get old.

Like Justin said, simply talking to any of the men and women in the U.S. military is a humbling experience that makes you feel proud. For Timberlake, it was an experience he did justice by sharing it with his fans. As a proud supporter of our troops, I hope Mila Kunis does the same next week!

Were you moved by Justin's reaction to the Marine Corps Ball?
