Kristen Stewart's Injury Won't Stop Her From Being a Killer Snow White

kristen stewartWhen I first heard that Kristen Stewart was going to break out of the Twilight mold and try something new with Snow White and the Huntsman, I was skeptical. It's no small task to play one of the most hardcore Disney princesses of all time. Plus, can you imagine living with seven teeny men at once? I could NOT!

But it turns out that the role is a bit more demanding than even I anticipated, and it has nothing to do with the dwarfs. Rather, it's all about the intense fighting! Stewart was reportedly hurt while filming this week, according to a tweet from her co-star Max Manganello. No details about the injury have been announced, but don't worry: She'll be back to work on Friday.

This isn't the first time we've seen Kristen struggle in her new role. Earlier this month, she told Boxoffice Magazine that "it's anguish." Could it be that Stewart just can't handle this Snow White role?

If you ask me, a few bumps and bruises are nothing. In fact, K. Stew's got this one in the bag. Is Snow White a challenging role? Of course. But Kristen's an excellent fit. She has the experience and the commitment to give a convincing performance. I'm calling it: This role is going to get audiences to see Kristen as "Kristen Stewart" -- instead of just "that actress from Twilight."

With that said, it's important the 21-year-old remembers the most important thing: safety first. As a talented woman and a young actress, she likely wants to prove that she can handle anything that's thrown her way. However, it's not a bad thing to have a stunt double step in for you once in a while, especially in scenes with sharp swords, horseback riding, and other potentially dangerous elements. Stunt doubles are a necessary component of any good action film, and even the best of the best (including bad-asses like Angelina Jolie!) use them once in a while.

Here's to hoping Kristen feels better soon. The movie hits theaters June 1, 2012, and I for one can't wait to see all of her hard work pay off.

Do you think Kristen Stewart is a good pick for Snow White?
