Khloe Kardashian Talks Truth About Getting Pregnant

Khloe KardashianWhile co-hosting the Today show yesterday, Khloe Kardashian shared a simple fact that many people don't know: Getting pregnant can be hard. Your whole life you worry about it happening when you don't want it to if you so much as sit on a toilet seat wrong, but when it comes down to actually trying, it can be tough.

There's so much involved in actually making a baby, besides the actual act of baby making, that has to go right, and many women have no clue what all those things are despite all the biology classes and other sex-ed efforts we're exposed to throughout our lives. As Khloe told Hoda Kotb:

It’s so hard. I never knew about ovulation and the limited amount of time you have to get pregnant. I never knew about that. No one ever taught me that.

I felt the same way when we started trying for a baby. Thank goodness for the Internet, because I really had no idea how short the window of opportunity to get pregnant was, nor all the things that had to happen to actually conceive a baby. I think many women don't.

Now that she's figured it out, it's still hard. Khloe says finding time for baby making in that short window of time is challenging given her schedule and that of her husband, Lamar Odom.

With schedules such as ours, it’s really hard to hit that mark, so it’s frustrating, but I definitely want to have kids.

And oh, how I hope she does soon. With all of the buzz about her sister, Kim Kardashian, and rumors of her pregnancy, it's got to be hard for Khloe. I remember how during years of infertility, every time I'd hear of a friend or co-worker getting married, I'd brace myself for their pregnancy announcements. I was happy for them, of course, but it's so difficult when it seems everyone around you has a baby before you ... when you've been trying much longer.

The good news is that when you finally do get that baby you've wanted for so long, you are perhaps just a touch more appreciative than someone who got pregnant so easily.

Did you find getting pregnant "hard"?
