'Hunger Games' Sneak Peek at the VMAs? Yes, Please! (VIDEO)

Fellow Hunger Games fans, if you weren't planning on watching the MTV Video Music Awards this weekend, I've got some news that might change your mind. Whether you sit down and watch the whole thing unfold live or fire up your TiVo so you can ba-doop ba-doop past the boring parts, you'll probably want to at least check in at some point in order to get an early peek at the movie we've all been waiting for.

Aw yeah, MTV has officially announced they'll be debuting the first look at The Hunger Games movie during their 28th annual VMAs, which starts at 9 p.m. ET on Sunday.

It should be pretty exciting, since they've got Katniss herself—AKA Jennifer Lawrence—on tap to introduce the exclusive sneak peek. The footage will then be available exclusively on MTV.com, but if you'd like to get a ... well, a sneak peek at the sneak peek, here you go:

Okay, fine, that was like half a second of footage, but did you see how wigged out Jennifer Lawrence looked? That's probably because she can't even believe how epically mind-blowingly awesome this movie is going to be. Not to feed into the massive marketing hype behind this film or anything.

In all seriousness, I'm pretty geeked about getting a look at the movie. Who knows how much of an actual teaser they'll give us, but I'm guessing if they're using the VMAs as a venue, it'll be worth watching.

Man, this might actually partially make up for the fact that the network is promoting Kim Kardashian's appearance during the awards. Sort of.

Will you be tuning into the VMAs on Sunday? Are you excited about getting a sneak peek at The Hunger Games?
