Will and Jada Smith's Shocking Split Is Unbelievable

After more than a decade and two kids together, Will and Jada Smith have always seemed like they have one of the strongest marriages in Hollywood. Not only do they appear in every photograph together looking happy as hell, they're constantly spouting words of wisdom on how they keep their relationship alive. Tip #1, divorce is not allowed. (Will: “The secret is removing divorce as an option. Anyone who gives themselves that option will get a divorce.”)

Sadly, despite their seemingly rock-solid vows, it appears that the Hollywood power couple has decided to end their 13-year marriage.

That is, if you believe that bastion of journalistic integrity, In Touch Weekly.

The magazine claims that Will and Jada Smith have decided to separate, but offers no details about why this may have happened or when. In other words, it sort of sounds like bullshit.

Especially when you consider their history together, which has happily survived an endless flurry of rumors that they're both gay (?) and that they routinely have sex with other people. Basically, each of them has separately admitted that just because you're married, you don't stop being attracted to other attractive people—which somehow led to the assumption they were hosting key parties every weekend. I'm not sure how that also makes them gay, but whatever.

The couple met in 1990 when Jada auditioned for a role on Smith's show The Fresh Prince, tied the knot in 1997, and have been going strong ever since. It seems like every interviewer loves to ask them how they manage to stay together in an industry not exactly known for commitment, and they've shared plenty of advice over the years.

The truth about life is that we're all alone. But when somebody loves you that experience is shared. Love is the only real connective tissue that allows you to not live and die by yourself.

When Will asked me to get married, I said, "Understand this, there will be no divorce. So, you might be in one bedroom and I might be in another, but we’re gonna be under the same roof and we’re gonna be married."

Every man wants to marry his homie. A lot of women will impress them, but it’s the one they can always laugh with and be themselves with that will ultimately impress them the most. If you can be yourselves around each other, 100 percent of the time, and they can make you life like no one else can, you’ll never have a dull moment together.

It can be hard because we get caught in the grind of life. Establish relationships with family members or friends and take turns with each other's kids so you can make that time for yourselves.

I suppose there's as much of a chance of this breakup rumor being true as anything else that happens in Hollywood, but I'm guessing Will and Jada Smith aren't the type who would allow In Touch Weekly to scoop the news. They seem more like an "Assemble the PR team and issue a carefully-worded statement" kind of couple, don't you think?

Assuming it's B.S., what a bummer to have to endure yet another crappy rumor about a happy marriage that the tabloids can't leave alone. Especially considering that they have kids old enough to be affected by what the media has to say about their family.

Do you think there's any truth to the so-called split between Will and Jada Smith?
