Memoir by ‘Housewives’ Creator Could Be Full of Great Dirt

andy cohenYour gay best friend and mine has just gotten himself a fancy book deal. Andy Cohen, the Bravo producer who's brought us shows like the Real Housewives, Top Chef, and Project Runway, has reportedly received a seven-figure advance for his memoir. Judging from the enormity of the advance, Cohen's book is probably going to be one of the biggest summer titles of 2012. And I, for one, can't wait. Mazel!

Andy's got to be one of the smartest guys on the planet. I mean, he created the Housewives! Does it get any more impressive than that? And his own show, Watch What Happens Live, is the second best show on TV, second only of course to 'Wives.

Anyway, I'm totally psyched for the book ... but you guys ... we might have a problem.

The Hollywood Reporter says that the book will chronicle Andy's life growing up as a closeted teen in St. Louis in the '70s and '80s, and will detail how shows like The Brady Bunch and Donnie and Marie inspired his pop culture career.

That's all fine and dAndy, but come on. I think what fans really want to know is all the dirt he has on our favorite Bravolebrities. He needs to write a behind-the-scenes memoir on what really goes down during those catty reunion shows, what he looks for when casting the Wives, what he likes and dislikes about each and every cast member, and what he would change if he could (ahem, Miami.)

That's what his fans want to know. Sure, we're interested in his personal life, but we're most interested in the access and insight he could provide -- does he think Teresa is dumb as rocks like we do? Would he like to slap Michele Salahi across the face like we would? Would he want to tell the Countess that she's the biggest hypocrite on Earth and needs to shut her mouth, like we would?

I can only hope his book opens the door to Housewives' dark side, and that Andy dishes to us as he would to his real-life best friend, Sarah Jessica Parker. So AC, don't be a jackhole, let us be your SJP!

Will you read Andy Cohen's memoir?
