Jamie Lynn Spears Shouldn't Encourage Her Kid to Copy Britney

Britney Spears started her career at a very young age, so is it any surprise her niece appears to be interested in following in her footsteps? Lucky for little Maddie Briann, Britney's sister Jamie Lynn Spears' daughter, her super-famous aunt posted her first performance on YouTube—and the hits are already climbing above a million views.

Wait until you see this video! Oh, how heart-melting is the sight of a cherub-faced 3-year-old singing to the camera? So adorable! So sweet! So ... incredibly freaking inappropriate.

See, Maddie isn't exactly warbling her way through "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star." She's singing Britney's track "Up 'n' Down," from her Femme Fatale album. And I don't think Britney's talking about, like, riding a jolly carousel at the state fair, if you know what I mean, and I think you do.

Here's little Maddie's performance:

And here are the actual lyrics she's singing:

The beat just dropped and the room got sexy

You're watching me like there's no one else around
I know you want me like kids want candy
So keep watching me go down and up and down
Down and up and down and up and down and up and down

Well, you have to admit Maddie is as cute as a button, no matter what she's singing. I truly can't judge, because I once got video of my toddler bouncing around to Eminem's "Crack a Bottle" (uh oh uh oh, bitches hoppin in my Tahoe) and I thought it was the funniest thing I'd ever seen.

However, call me crazy—shaved-head, wielding-an-umbrella crazy—but does it maayyyyyyybe seem like not such a super great idea for Jamie Spears to encourage her kid to be like Britney? I'm just saying, there have been a few bumps in the road with Aunt Brit-Brit. The video's sweet and all, but I have this sneaking suspicion the next thing we'll see is a toddler version of Britney's schoolgirl uniform, then a stuffed python around Maddie's shoulders, and then—boom, it's all downhill from there. Barefoot visits to gas station potties, preschool Purple Drank, embarrassing VMA recital comebacks, etc.

What do you think about Jamie Spears' daughter's video? Innocent fun or kinda weird?
