Lady Gaga in Nebraska Can Only Mean One Thing

lady gaga at pianoBack when we all thought Lady Gaga had broken up with her on-again-off-again rocker boyfriend Luc Carl, I thought, "BOO! So I guess there's no way she'll be releasing "You and I" as a single! I even thought she might scrap performing it, because it's about her longtime love, and if she were reeling from heartache about him, how could she find it in her heart to croon, "Nebraska, Nebraska, I loooove you"?

Well, silly me! I guess it didn't occur to me that they probably weren't even broken up for good-sky. Because fast-forward to today, and we're getting all these juicy details on the new video she shot in Nebraska (just outside of Luc's hometown, Springfield) for her forthcoming single ... which was recently confirmed to be for "You and I" (duh). Gaga shared some info on the video on Omaha radio station 94.1.

The Mother Monster, who has been spied shooting video footage involving Sarpy County cornfields, a barn with a piano, and a biker bar, explained:

Well, I shot my new music video here. I've got to tell you, I don't think there's anything hotter than being in a cornfield in Nebraska. It was so sweet, and I looked out and it's so beautiful, that tall corn ... The person who I wrote this song about has been my buddy and my best friend since I was 19 years old, and he's from here. And I love this state so much.

Pffft! The state?! SURE. More like LUC. She went on to talk about how the concept of the video is that she's "walked all the way from New York City to Nebraska to get him back." Him, who? Her "best buddy," the long-haired, bad romancing bartender who has been the subject of just about every song Gaga's ever written?

Buddy-shmuddy. I don't buy that for one second! These two are totally back together. I have a theory, and that's that these two either break up and get back together just as frequently as Gaga changes her crazy outfits ... OR they've been together all along, and she just likes to play the "I'm single" angle for an air of mystery. Either way, I'm glad she sounds so happy, and I can't wait to see Gaga tear it up in Nebraska.

What do you think -- does this interview and the "You and I" video concept lead you to believe Gaga and Luc are back together?
