Vienna Girardi Has the Right to Get Whatever Nose She Wants

Most of what I know about The Bachelor, Bachelorette, and assorted Bach-related franchises comes from the front pages of magazines, but I think I like this Vienna Girardi. Apparently the former Bachelor star had a nose job last week, and instead of doing something silly like denying it ever happened or blaming her transformed looks on a "deviated septum," Girardi came right out and announced she'd been under the knife.

Weirdly enough, her surgery was performed by another reality-TV-related alum, as her plastic surgeon is the father of former Bachelor contestant Erica Rose, but it sounds like the rose nose job was a success. Girardi told Us Weekly that while she is currently in a lot of pain, she's excited to see the results.

Girardi also tweeted her philosophy on cosmetic surgery in general, and I can't believe I'm about to say this, but I think I agree with her.

I want my surgery to be looked at as positive reflection of how I feel. If it makes you feel better about yourself then DO IT. xoxo

Word. I think there's a big difference between what Girardi had done and the sort of bizarre self-mutilation someone like Heidi Montag underwent. Hell, if I had money to burn, I would definitely consider getting a little work done—nothing drastic, just a little lift to combat the inevitable droop that has arrived along with my late 30s. It wouldn't drastically alter my appearance, and I'd consider it similar to all the other weird crap I do to improve my looks. Coating my eyelashes with black goo, applying chemicals to my hair to make it a different color, dragging a sharp blade across my skin to make it smooth and stubble-free ... eh, what's a little surgical intervention in comparison to all that?

I'd bet Girardi has spent her life wishing for a different nose, so I say more power to her. (I'd also bet good money that Ashley Simpson has never looked back from the work she had done.) As long as this doesn't turn into some sort of surgical slippery slope where Girardi keeps messing with her looks until she gets that Joker vibe so many of the Real Housewives seem to be fans of, I think being able to deal with a cosmetic trouble spot is a wonderful treat for yourself.

Apparently we'll all get to enjoy her new nose next month when she appears on yet another
Bachelor spinoff, Bachelor Pad 2, which she's starring in along with her Bachelorette contestant boyfriend Kasey Kahl. Sounds, um, Bacheloriffic.

What do you think about Girardi's choice to get a nose job? Do you support plastic surgery or hate the idea of it?
