Pregnant Tori Spelling to Join Hollywood's Big Family Club

Tori SpellingTori Spelling and Dean McDermott announced yesterday they are pregnant with their third child. Such happy news for the family, and it comes with a big bonus -- they now get to join the elite and trendy club of families with three and more children. Yes, no longer are big families just for birth-control bereft Mormons and Catholics, they have become a status symbol, and Hollywood is, of course, leading the trend.

Nothing says look how much money we have to feed this brood of children, and look how mentally stable I am to be able to handle this many children, more than two kids. Here are some of the hottest celebrity families leading the big fancy family trend:

Victoria and David Beckham

The power couple is expecting their fourth child, a girl, this summer. She'll join brothers Brooklyn, 11, Romeo, 8, and Cruz, 5. Hopefully, they will NOT choose to name her Santa.

Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos

It's hard to believe a single baby was born from her rock-hard body, but she has actually carried three children: Michael, Lola, and Joaquin.

Heidi Klum and Seal

Four is the number for the beautiful couple ... for now, anyway. Their brood includes: Leni, 7; Henry, 5; Johan, 4; and Lou, 18 months. They make it look easy ... and so pretty.

Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick

For awhile it looked like James Wilkie would be the only child for Parker and Broderick. Then along came twin baby girls Marion and Tabitha, and suddenly they're in the club too.

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie

Brad and Angie rule this club. Let's see, how many children do they have again? It's hard to keep track. Despite rumors that they may have recently adopted another one, the current official count is at six: Maddox, 9; Pax, 7; Zahara, 6; Shiloh, 4; and 2-year-old twins Vivienne and Knox. They win.

The danger here, of course, is that the rest of America likes to hop on Hollywood's trends, and much of the rest of America doesn't have the funds to provide for the nannies, night nurses, and cooks that these families do. Then it's those trend-chasing parents faced with caring for their little status symbols all alone whether they go out of style or not.

What do you think of Hollywood's big family trend?
