'Jersey Shore' Recap: Could These Friendships Be Real?

Season 3 is looking up after the last two episodes, including the special that aired on Monday night. As the focus shifted away from Sammi and Ronnie (thank God) and onto other relationships -- JWoww and Tom, for instance -- the show improved.

The highlights of the show included Snooki deciding to "stop drinking," except Pinot Grigio, which even pregnant women drink for god's sake! We also saw JWoww finally end her crap relationship with Tom, date a new guy, and introduce Snooki to a new guy. They also found a "clone Ronnie" who hooked up with Deena despite the fact that he has a girlfriend named ... Sam.

Please god. One Ronnie and Sam is enough. But really, this episode was about the friendship between Snooki and JWoww.

Snooki started the episode in a dark place affectionately known as jail. Yes, the snookers landed in jail during Monday's very special episode. She was publicly intoxicated, slurring, "I'm a good person" at the cops and wearing green fuzzy slippers on the beach. But JWoww was wow, indeed. She took care of Snooki, called her dad after the arrest, and seemed genuinely very concerned about her friend.

Later on in the episode, she talked to Snooki about her pledge to not drink and found a way to give her what she really needed -- a man. JWoww, who is now dating Roger, set poor loveless Snooki up with Roger's friend. He's not the total package (he's Irish, not Italian, Snooki lamented), but he is pretty darn close.

By the end of the episode, it was JWoww who needed Snooki after the messy breakup with Tom. And by messy, I mean, what the hell was up with that? Seriously, who steals money from their ex's PayPal account and takes her hard drive, bed, and watch? That guy has vengeful stalker written all over him.

What is amazing is that, after 2.3 seasons of watching this show, I never really recognized what awesome ladies JWoww and Snooki are. Sure, they are fun to make fun of, but they are actually really good to each other. They aren't catty, don't judge each other, have each other's backs, and always defend one another. They are really good friends and, dare I say, even likable.

Yes, somehow the girls I love to hate have grown on me. I think I kind of (gulp) like them now. Don't hate me.

Are Snooki and JWoww growing on you, too?
