Eddie Cibrian: Most Hated Man in America?

It looks like Eddie Cibrian -- the actor who left his wife for singer LeAnn Rimes -- is about to make an honest woman out of her. The two, who have been together for just about 2 years, got engaged over the holidays (with a 5-carat diamond)  and, true to Hollywood form, are expecting a long and happy future together.

We are extremely excited and look forward to a beautiful future. It's been an incredible last few days, I was shocked!!! We are blessed, our families are so happy and our lives are filled with love.

Hmmmm...  That's not all it's filled with. Sure, people who know the couple are probably happy for them, but there seem to be a lot more people out there just waiting for the couple to fail. I don't believe the old adage "Once a cheater, always a cheater," but I am pretty sure I am in the minority on that line of thinking. Here is some of the recent chatter and the people who hate the couple:

He was recently heckled by reporters at the Country Music Awards:

Cibrian felt the wrath of critics when he stepped on stage to present an award to Lady Antebellum, with reporters in the press room calling him out as a "cheater".

Called out by talk show hosts:

Talk show host Wendy Williams says Rimes shouldn’t call Eddie Cibrian’s kids "my boys" because "the boys have a mother, and her name is Brandi [Glanville]."

On Twitter, just this morning:

#leannrimes thinks it is okay to cheat and then rub a woman's face in it

#leannrimes uses "love" as an excuse to promote hate

His ex-wife:

She told Us Weekly she was tired of Cibrian's infidelity. As Us Weekly first reported, he had an affair with now-single LeAnn Rimes while shooting Lifetime original movie Northern Lights, which they filmed last fall.

It's ugly out there. I hope they can avoid some of the haters and try to be happy. If the haters are right, she will soon be suffering far more than any Twitter war could ever make her. Good luck to them...  They are gonna need it!

Do you hate the couple?
