Benjamin Millepied & Natalie Portman: The Perfect Couple?

The beautiful and perfect Natalie Portman is engaged and expecting a baby with Benjamin Millepied, a ballet dancer she met on the set of Black Swan.

The news may be quite shocking to some -- Natalie Portman has premarital sex? -- It is not all that shocking that a woman as cultured as Portman would choose a dancer as her future spouse. And although the relationship was apparently controversial on set (he broke up with his girlfriend of three years to be with her) once you learn more about the man himself, the two are actually a perfect match.

So, who is this man who swept her off her feet? Here are some things to know about them together:

They are both international: Portman was born in Jerusalem, Israel while Millepied was born in Bordeaux, France.

He is also at the top of his career: Like Portman, who has two major movies coming out within a month of each other, both of which are getting great reviews (Black Swan in particular) Millipede is at the top of his game career-wise. He began dancing at the young age of eight, and studied as a child at the Conservatoire National in Lyon, France. He joined the New York City Ballet -- arguably the best ballet company in the country -- in 1995 he became a principal in 2002. He choreographed both Black Swan and shows for the American Ballet Theater and City Ballet.

He understands her: Portman talked lovingly about her fiance in interviews, particularly praising his ability to help her reach her goals:

He knows how to change when things aren’t working well. Sometimes I just couldn’t do something. No matter how hard I worked, I couldn’t do it. He would fix it to make it something that I could do.

They create good things together: Black Swan has received rave reviews in large part due to the dedication of both Portman and Millepied.

They are both good ages: At just 33 (Millepied) and 29, they have lived long enough to make good decisions, but are not so old that they are jaded and set in their ways. They are great ages to embark on new roles in their personal lives as spouses and parents.

Do you think they sound good together?
