Rolling Stones Squash Retirement Rumors: They're Rockin' On

Rolling StonesRumors abounded this weekend that the Rolling Stones would say a final farewell to fans during a 50th anniversary tour and finally retire from rocking.

BZZZT, say the Stones.

The band's representative told Entertainment Weekly the rumors are "not true."

Rumors came courtesy of a story in the Sunday edition of The Sun and quickly spread.

"They’re likely to perform in stadiums," a source said. "It’s almost certainly the last full-scale world tour. The band realize that age is creeping up on them. They want to bow out on top of their game, and not short-change their fans.”

So whether the source is spilling something the Stones aren't ready to share or just provided inaccurate information remains to be seen.

While Mick Jagger and the boys have been around long time, their music is timeless, and fans are clearly still supportive. During their 2005 to 2007 tour, Bigger Bang World Tour, they raked in $558 million. It's said to be the highest-grossing concert series ever.

So until they're not serving up satisfaction anymore, I say keep rocking!

Do you think it's time for the Rolling Stones to retire?
