Classy Move, Elisabeth Hasselbeck!

Today on The View, Elisabeth Hasselbeck tearfully apologized to Erin Andrews for a hurtful remark she made yesterday about Andrews' skimpy attire on Dancing With the Stars.

The remark she regretted (referring to Michael David Barrett, the man who allegedly took illegal pictures of Andrews):

"In light of what happened and as a legal [matter] -- and as inexcusable as it was for that horrific guy to go in and try to peep on her in her hotel room," Hasselbeck said. "I mean, in some way if I'm him, I'm like, ‘Man! I just could've waited 12 weeks and seen this -- a little bit less -- without the prison time!'"

Ouch! Totally inappropriate and offensive, right?

Today, Hasselbeck did the right thing and offered a public, emotional, and sincere apology to Andrews. It brought me to tears.

Though I know she's the hostess with the mostest haters, I say, good for Elisabeth!

While you can never take words back, she totally owned up to the pain she caused Andrews by using "reckless words" that can "pierce someone's heart like a sword," as Hasselbeck explained to her daughter.

Things get heated on The View, words fly, and there's not a lot of time to think before one speaks in such a situation. I say a lot of things I regret too, and the only thing you can do is say you're sorry, ask for forgiveness, and move on -- exactly what she's done.

Do you think Elisabeth's apology was adequate?
