CBS Plans a New Mom-Centric Take on "The View"

Can't get enough of The View?

According to the NY Post, CBS is betting on it. The network announced that they're planning a new mommy-centric chat fest to compete with the long-running ABC talk show -- and they're already shooting a pilot with ladies like Julie Chen and actress Sara Gilbert, who last starred on The Big Bang Theory.

The show will feature a panel of mommy newsmakers and celebrities chatting about timely topics from a mom-focused perspective. Other names the network has thrown out include pregnant Real Housewives of New York star Bethenny Frankel and actress Lisa Rinna.

Sounds like a bit of a snooze-fest to me. So I came up with some stronger, sassier celeb mom options for CBS to consider.

Jenny McCarthy: With her tendency to put her foot in her mouth and outspoken autism activism -- plus a sense of humor -- Jenny would provide comic relief and controversy in one bottled-blond package. Plus, she could dish on life with her occasionally tactless ex, Jim Carrey.

Holly Robinson Peete: A mix of the everymom and football wife, Holly is stylish and sensible, a working woman who still manages to make lots of time for her four kids -- all while doing real activist work for kids with autism.

Mayim Bialik: Former Blossom star and attachment-parenting promoter Mayim -- who will next appear on the CBS hit The Big Bang Theory -- brings another controversial take to the table. Plus, she's a total smarty pants: She's a neuroscientist, complete with a PhD.

Jennie Garth: Call her the green mom. Actress Jennie balances work on 90210 and life with three daughters (dad is Twilight star Peter Facinelli) with an environmentally oriented outlook.

Nicole Richie: Already a mom of two at 28, Nicole would bring to the table a younger, hipper perspective. And she's dealt with eating disorders, drug abuse, and adoption -- issues a lot of women can relate to.

Who would you like to see on CBS's new mom-oriented round table?
