6 Best Places to Snap a Selfie in the White House (Now That It's Allowed)

If you've visited the White House in the last 40 or so years, you may have been sorely disappointed about not being able to take photo. Signs posted around the property warned visitors not to take any pictures -- and on Thursday, Michelle Obama ripped them up and lifted the ban on photography during White House tours.


Take a look at the video that the First Lady posted on Twitter on Wednesday morning:

A memo from the White House read, "Effective today, guests are now welcome to take photos throughout the White House tour route and keep those memories for a lifetime." Although flash photography and selfie sticks are still banned, it's still a historic move.

Sweet! Now that you don't have to worry about the Secret Service confiscating your cellphone if you try to snap a selfie, where are the best places to take one?

Well, obviously with First Pups Bo and Sunny, if they happen to be hanging out.

Or in the East Room, with the nation's first president, General George Washington.

Please be sure to take a windblown selfie if the prez happens to be taking off in Marine Force One.
