Teacher Apologizes for Her Awful Segregation Comments After McKinney Pool Party

Ugh. We may not know exactly what went down at that pool party in McKinney, Texas last weekend, when a cop pinned down a teen girl in a bikini after a fight erupted that may or may not have been started by some parents, but I'm pretty sure I know one thing that won't help such situations from occurring -- segregation.

You'd think that would be common knowledge, but one fourth grade teach is making the apology tour after a Facebook post of hers came to light, calling for a reintegration of Jim Crow-style segregation laws.

Yeah, you read that right. Karen Fitzgibbons, an elementary teacher at Bennet Elementary in Wolforth, Texas, decided to air her views on the topic on social media, as well as defend renegade cop Eric Casebolt, who resigned after the incident.

She said that she was "ANGRY" that Casebolt resigned, and all the racial tension in the town was caused by "the blacks." She said that this latest commotion had pushed her "almost to the point of wanting them all segregated on one side of town so they can hurt each other and leave the innocent people alone."

What the heck? Fitzgibbons wrote in her post:

I'm going to just go ahead and say it ... the blacks are the ones causing the problems and this 'racial tension.' I guess that's what happens when you flunk out of school and have no education. I'm sure their parents are just as guilty for not knowing what their kids were doing; or knew it and didn't care. I'm almost to the point of wanting them all segregated on one side of town so they can hurt each other and leave the innocent people alone.

Maybe the 50s and 60s were really on to something. Now, let the bashing of my true and honest opinion begin ... GO! #imnotracist #imsickofthemcausingtrouble #itwasatagedcommunity.

What the heck? The post has now been deleted, because obviously. Did you hear that white people? You're innocent! And black parents? You are criminals who don't even care about your kids! Because being black makes you break the law -- don't try and fight it, just congregate in your own section of town and leave the pacifist white people alone.

I get that racism still still exists, and it breaks my heart to see people stereotyped and treated unfairly because of some bad apples. But the fact that this woman is entrusted with children every day is disturbing. The school district acknowledged that they were aware of the post, and that she remains a teacher.

Fitzgibbons said that she had "apologized to the appropriate people," and, "It was not an educational post; it was a personal experience post."

Whatever, racist lady. I'm just glad she's not teaching my kids.

Do you think Fitzgibbons should be fired or reprimanded more severely for her Facebook post about segregation?
