Baby Involved In Scary Car Accident in the Last Place You’d Expect

There are plenty of things that could hurt babies when they're asleep in their cribs, but if there's one thing we thought they were safe from there, it was SUVs. But apparently not -- the wall of a house and a crib didn't stop one baby in Washington from getting hit by a car. The baby is okay but the house and the car aren'twhich, admittedly, isn't the wost outcome this story could have.

The crash happened in an apartment complex in Bellevue, a suburb of Seattle. Investigators say the 34-year-old driver of a SUV was pulling into a driveway when they accidentally hit the gas pedal instead of the brake and the car went through the side of a house.

It sounds like a scene out of a sitcom, except for the part where there was a baby on the other side of the wall sleeping in his crib.

The car crashed through the side of the house and toppled the crib ... which caused enough noise that the parents ran in and rescued the 9-month-old from the debris. And by some lucky twist of fate, he was okay.

But how terrifying is that? Moms spend 100 percent of their time worrying at least a little about their kids, and you'd hope that when they're tucked away in their beds you can relax a little because they're safe from the outside world. Apparently, though, that's not so.

Learning to drive is tricky business and it was really just a wrong-place-wrong-time situation for everyone invovled. But still. That poor family who had to live through the nightmare of seeing a car and a crushed crib in their nursery.
