Woman's Body Found in Trunk of Missing Family's Car

Five days after a family of six mysteriously went missing from their Los Angeles home, the body of a woman has reportedly been found in the trunk of their car. Erica Perez, 39, her husband Daniel Perez, 43, and their four sons -- Jordan, 11, Jaiden, 9, Tristan, 8, and Alex, 6 -- were reported missing from their home in Montebello on Friday. The discovery of a woman's body in a black Honda that matches the model and license plate of the family's vehicle has police fearing the worst.

The woman's identity has not been revealed and her body was turned over to the LA County Coroner's office, but police reportedly believe the victim is the children's mother. Cops discovered the car next to Beverly Hospital and a few blocks away from the family's home just one day after they were reported missing.

An Amber Alert has been issued for the four children, who police believe are with their father in a black 2014 Toyota Camry with the California license plate 7FDS891. Perez is now considered a person of interest in the case.

The couple reportedly had an unstable marriage and a history of domestic violence, according to family members. Yet they still decorated their home for Christmas right before their disappearance. Police began treating this as a missing persons search after Perez reportedly missed work two days in a row.

The couple also has a fifth son who has been staying with his grandmother.

At a press conference, Erica Perez's sister Pamela Valdez cried as she begged her brother-in-law to turn himself in: "We just want to know where the kids are. Please, Danny, bring the kids back. Just drop them off at a fire station somewhere. Don't hurt them, please -- they're innocent. Don't do this. Please, Danny, just drop the kids off. Please."

This is a frightening and emotional story and we are hoping for the speedy and safe return of these four children.
